The Women
& Water Networks (WWNs) in South Asia are a part of the SASTAC initiative to mainstream gender in IWRM. They were set up in 2001 and are progressing at different rates in the six SASTAC countries (Pakistan, Sri Lanka, India, Nepal, Bangladesh
& Bhutan). The Women & Water Networks work under the guidance of SASTAC
& informally affiliated with the CWPs, in that representatives of each WWN will become part of the CWPs and add their issues
& voice to mainstream discussions in each country.
