	Facilitation-Established Regional Secretariat of CapNet South Asia

	Facilitation of preliminary membership & Consolidation

	Strengthening and consolidating the networks - through increased intra-country linkages-with inputs from Global CapNet inputs at various levels such as financial, capacity building, networking and knowledge sharing.

	Extension of Outreach

	Setting up of Research Network (ResNet SA) as a sub-network of CapNet SA

Country level
	Membership drive was entrusted with the Country CapNets in continuation of the preliminary membership list as part of decentralization after March 2004.

	Facilitated the Launch of Country CapNets through a transparent process with regional and global support.

Governance Mechanism
	Launched the discussion on South Asia Working Guidelines - through intensive & animated discussions based on draft prepared by Regonal Secretariat of CapNet SA and presented at the 1st Regional Coordinators Meeting in Bangalore, March 2004.

	Constitution of Regional Advisory Board (RAB) to support CapNet activities - with representation from Regional Council (RWP/SA), GWA, WSSCC, IWMI, ADB, UNESCO, JWF, Governments, academics, training and research institutions in the water sector. Its mandate is to act as a think tank related to CapNet activities in the region.
