Cap-Net is an international
network for capacity building in integrated water
resources management. It is an Associated Programme
of the Global Water Partnership and a UNDP programme
with its head office based at THE-UNESCO, Delft,
Netherlands. Cap-Net’s direct partners are
regional and country level capacity building
networks working in integrated water resources
management. These networks are mostly composed of
capacity building institutions, such as
universities, training institutes, but most
importantly NGOs, governmental agencies, private
companies, development agencies, water

CapNet-South Asia is the regional network of
capacity building institutions in South Asia for
institutionalizing Integrated Water Resources
Management (IWRM) from a participatory,
interdisciplinary and gender sensitive perspective
for improved economic growth, enhanced social equity
and increased environmental sustainability. Its
secretariat is based at Hyderabad, India. The larger
objective is to create, consolidate and
institutionalize the facilities for conceptualizing,
planning and operational zing Capacity Building for
